Illegal botox in Mexico: authorities issue alert [Video]

The Federal Commission for the Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris) warned about the illegal marketing of Botox. According to a report published on their social media, Linurase, an injectable botulinum toxin type A, lacks health registration.

He indicated that the marketing of the merchandise has been detected through internet pages, social networks, and self-service stores with independent distributors, for which the Cofepris issued an alert to the population and medical personnel to avoid the acquisition and use of this product which represents a health risk.

The health agency added that there is also no information on the transportation, storage, and distribution mechanisms of Linurase.

In a statement, he urged people to file a health complaint on the website gob.mx/cofepris if they experience any adverse reaction associated with the administration of any application with Linurase.
