Using a Slideshow in Your Website Header – Website Builder Demo [Video]

In this video, we are going to show you how to add a slideshow to your website header in the GoDaddy website builder. What’s cool about using a slideshow is that your header section would rotate through the images you want your site visitors to see.I’m starting in the website editor. Start by selecting your header, the first section of your homepage, and then select the arrow next to Cover Media. There are three tabs and we’re gonna choose Slideshow. You can use the same text for all of your slides or you can have the text change with each slide you show. We’re gonna leave ours the same. I’ll jump to the advanced options after we upload our pictures.Go ahead and click the plus to add images. You’re taken to the media library. You can upload new pictures or choose from images already in your library, which is what I’m gonna do.I’m going to choose a few pictures and then I can see how it looks in the slideshow.I can always remove and add different pictures until things look just right.I have the images I want so I’m gonna click Add to Header. The first image displays with the header text overlaid. That looks good.I can click the dots at the bottom of the image to move to the next slide.Hmm, that one’s a little blurry so I’m gonna click on the image from the right pane. Now I can change the focal point by moving the blue dot where I want the picture to be focused on.I still think this picture looks blurry so I’m gonna remove the slide.I’m going to select the next picture. The size for this image is just too big for the space. So I’m gonna remove it. That’s easy. Now I’m gonna click on the picture of the little girl and the dog so I can make sure the girl is in the frame and she doesn’t have her head cut off.All I need to do is click the blue dot in the image, which moves the main focal point. And there, that looks good.I really wanna have at least three images for my slideshow. Some had one more image real quick. And when it’s added, I’m gonna click to adjust the focal plane. And we’re looking sharp. Now we’re ready to look at the advanced options. The show dots is turned on and those are the dots you see across the bottom of the header and it allows users to navigate from one picture to the next.Flipping the toggle to show the arrows places a small arrow on the edge of the image so the site visitors can move through the photos by clicking the arrow. We’re gonna turn that back off.And last but not least, you can say how many seconds you want each image to stay on the header before it moves to the next slide. We’re gonna leave seven seconds and fade for our transition. If things look good to you, then you’re ready to say you’re done and publish your site. That’s it. That’s how you add a slideshow to your header.#website #websitedesign #websites #godaddy
