In the world of Network Marketing, there’s a sneaky game being played with your data – not just yours, but your whole team. Data misuse in the Network Marketing industry is rife and whilst I give one example below, I bet you can think of numerous occasions when you have innocently provided your details to someone in the network marketing industry or an influencer imparting their advice to you and others in the network marketing industry, only to then be routinely and frequently bombarded with marketing emails/texts/messages about all manner of other offers provided by this company/person, when you only, originally, signed up for one particular bit of network marketing information!

What’s the deal with this data collection, and how are they doing it? Well, buckle up because I’m about to shine a light on the shady stuff happening behind the scenes in a lot of the Network Marketing industry.

Let’s start with the network marketing companies themselves. You’ve probably seen those new network marketing startups promising big things with little to no upfront cost. It’s tempting, right? But here’s the catch – when something seems too good to be true, it usually is! These network marketing companies lure you in with promises of building your team before the official launch, but in reality, they’re just after your data! What? You heard it right, your data is super valuable to them!

Some of these network marketing startups are so shady, you can’t even figure out who’s running the show. They’re like ghosts in the machine, operating from the shadows of the virtual world. But here’s the thing – when you sign up, you’re handing over your personal info, maybe even your tax ID number, without knowing where it’s going or who’s behind it.

Then there are the network marketing leaders, the “big shots” who seem to have it all figured out. Let me tell you a little story about one such network marketing leader. This guy was a whiz with Facebook ads, and he had a slick system for generating leads. He offered to share his system with the whole company, and, for a small fee, you could even buy into his lead pool and get qualified leads delivered right to your inbox.

Sounds great, right? Well, here’s where it gets sticky. After a few months, this network marketing leader just up and left the company, taking his system – and your data – with him. Suddenly, all those leads you paid for were worthless, and you were left high and dry, all your data gone! Data misuse right there!

But it didn’t stop there. This guy hopped from network marketing company to network marketing company, taking his lead list (the data) with him each time. Again, more data misuse and guess what? You and your team were still on that list, getting invites to join him all over the place in his latest network marketing venture – what a disgrace and not only that but what blatant data misuse!

So, what’s the lesson here? Be careful who you trust with your data, whether it’s a network marketing company or a network marketing leader. And if you’re looking for a new network marketing opportunity, then do your homework. Make sure you know who you’re dealing with and what their track record is like.

I won’t put up with the unethical and dodgy practices in the network marketing industry. I love the network marketing industry so much and there is a lot to love with network marketing companies and network marketing leaders that do things the right way – like me. I will always “call out” and hold to account those whose dodgy practices and shady dealings bring the network marketing industry down and those that misuse data are to be avoided.
