Fox News’ Emily Compagno tried to disprove that Donald Trump was a threat to democracy by recounting how he bought chicken and milkshakes for happy customers at an Atlanta Chick-fil-A.
After playing several clips of Democrats claiming that Trump “unravels core democratic institutions,” Compagno responded, “Does he really?” before continuing.
“The former president has been busy on the campaign trail, and yesterday’s visit to an Atlanta Chick-fil-A has gone viral online,” Compagno said. “Trump treated customers to chicken and milkshakes, appealing to voters with a campaign strategy, and, some argued, a personality trait of meeting people, of meeting voters where they are.”
Fox News then played video of Trump cavorting with the restaurant’s workers and customers.
“That is genuine,” Compagno said of the delighted reactions to Trump. “Here, we see Donald Trump is the one who is actually meeting people where they are.”
