Flipkart Asked To Pay Customer Rs 10,000 For Mental Harassment After Cancellation Of iPhone Order [Video]

Flipkart was asked to pay Rs 10,000 to a customer by a consumer disputes redressal commission after the online shopping platform was found adopting unfair trade practices, and causing mental harassment to its customer after the website cancelled his iPhone order.

The order passed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Central Mumbai, last month, said that the cancelation was intentional to make extra profit, which amounts to a deficiency in service and unfair and restrictive trade practice adopted by the online platform.

In the detailed order that was available on Sunday, the commission stated that even if the consumer had received a refund, he should nevertheless be made whole for the psychological distress and mental anguish he endured as a result of the order’s unilateral cancellation.
