New study will look at the future of Riverchase Galleria in Hoover [Video]

HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – Hoover’s mayor announced possible changes coming to the Riverchase Galleria during the State of the City Address on Tuesday.

Mayor Frank Brocato says a lot of Hoover’s revenue relies on sales tax, but with the impacts of online shopping, he and others recognize the need for change.

The Riverchase Galleria is owned by eight different entities, and in order to see what the future of the Galleria will look like, the city is working with these owners to put together a study.

The study will look at redevelopment, current market conditions, and recommendations for changes.

The study is set to happen this year and will cost $200,000.

“Fortunately, we’ve got the owners of the Galleria to get on board, and we are very hopeful that this will provide some helpful insight on blazing the path forward,” Mayor Brocato said.
