Kohl’s Set to Close 27 Underperforming Stores and a Fulfillment C.. [Video]

Kohl’s has announced plans to close 27 underperforming stores across the United States by April 2025 as part of its strategy to address declining sales and streamline operations.

The closures represent less than 3% of its total locations, leaving the retail giant with more than 1,120 stores nationwide.

Additionally, the company will shutter its San Bernardino E-commerce Fulfillment Center in May 2025, citing improved efficiencies at newer facilities and the ability to fulfill online orders directly from store locations.

The decision to close these sites comes amid ongoing pressures faced by traditional department stores as consumer shopping habits continue to shift.

Kohl’s reported a nearly 9% drop in third-quarter net sales in 2024 and has seen its stock value tumble significantly in the past year.

Despite these challenges, the company remains committed to the long-term strength of its profitable locations.
