I-Team: Counterfeit flea collars bought off Amazon [Video]

(WFSB) – As you’re online shopping this holiday season, a Litchfield woman wants to warn others that it’s possible to unknowingly buy counterfeit goods. Those counterfeits could be harmful.

Amazon reports it seized and destroyed 7 million counterfeit products in 2023. Amazon has its own counterfeit crimes unit, but one counterfeit product found its way to a woman in Litchfield. She’s worried she may have found out too late.

Since 2017, wherever Cassandra Andersen went, her dog Maggie was most likely by her side.

“She was a rescue, and the second she came into my life, honestly she just completely changed it,” said Anderson

Andersen would have done anything for Maggie, and to protect her from fleas and ticks she bought Maggie what she thought was a Seresto dog collar off Amazon.
