Social media channels for Lowe’s are filled with helpful “how-to” content to help customers achieve their home improvement goals — whether it’s a creative DIY project idea, tips for completing simple home repairs or a guide to using a drill and finding the correct drill bit. 

Lowe’s spoofed its own content for Halloween by tapping a creepy villain straight out of a thrasher movie to provide guidance on how to operate a chainsaw. The two-minute video was created by Dentsu Creative and shared on the brand’s YouTube, Instagram and TikTok pages.

The “Haunted How To” video appears to have been hijacked by the villain to portray a “terrifying display of safety,” as the video warns at its opening. An upbeat-sounding narrator voices a step-by-step guide to operating a chainsaw, while the footage itself is dark and ominous.
