The city has asked its residents to participate by completing an online survey.
DES MOINES, Iowa — The City of Des Moines announced earlier this month that it is creating its first-ever Citywide Housing Strategy, and is asking for residents’ input through a survey.

The strategy’s goal is to guide efforts in balancing housing distribution throughout Des Moines, the city said. The city added that it will align with the PlanDSM Comprehensive Plan and Statement of Housing Needs along with other neighborhood revitalization efforts.
Using findings of the city’s Consolidated Plan, a consultant team at CZB, LLC and a steering committee are considering resource constraints facing city government, affordability challenges, housing market conditions and the city’s competitive position within the region. Through these factors, the investment of federal housing and community development funds will be determined.
