Country Stampede hopes storms dont follow them to Bonner Springs [Video]

BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. (KCTV) – The Country Stampede kicked off Thursday, but in recent years the timing of the festival has corresponded with storms, and with a KCTV5 First Warn in place, there is a chance it happens again.

Country Stampede Marketing Manager Shelby Ebert said they are monitoring the forecasts during the three-day festival.

“The safety of our patrons are our number one priority,” Ebert said. “We’ll be putting up announcements on the PA if weather does become an issue, and also stay tuned to our social media, we’ll put any announcements up on there.”

This is the first year the festival is taking place at the Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs. It was in Topeka at the Heartland Motorsports Park before it closed.
