Top local scams of 2024 [Video]

At the start of each year, the Better Business Bureau reviews the top local scams, and once again, online shopping scams tops the list for the fifth year in a row.

Online shopping fraud remains the most reported scam, with millions lost annually to fake websites, fraudulent transactions, and non-delivery of items.

Phishing scams and fake job opportunities hold steady in the top three for the second year in a row.

Rounding out the list are schemes like debt collection, counterfeit products, travel scams, and new to the top 10: investment scams. Social media impersonators and promises of huge returns are luring people into significant financial losses.
