Texas Claims Google and Facebook Colluded on Pricing
A coalition of 38 US states and territories filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google on Thursday, claiming that the tech giant has monopolised search advertising and harmed competitors with its presentation of search results, favouring its own services over those of rivals. The complaint also claims it abused its position by ensuring it became the default search engine in not only web browsers and smartphones, but also via technologies like smart speakers and connected cars, through the company’s voice assistant feature.
