Traditional UK Broadcasting Won’t Survive without Help says Ofcom
The UK’s communications regulator Ofcom warned this week that traditional UK broadcasting is unlikely to survive the competitive pressures it faces in the online world, unless broadcasting laws and regulation are overhauled and broadcasters speed up their transformation for the digital age.
Ofcom said its studies show that consumers still value the role of public-sector broadcasters, but that PSBs nonetheless find themselves at a critical juncture as audiences migrate away from traditional PSB channels.
