It’s a smarter way to generate sales leads. Basically, it’s a chatbot that lives on your website and helps you collect information from your customers, and guides them through the buying process so that they buy without you ever having to talk to them.We’re still a new company. We are a newborn baby. One of the things we hadn’t done to this point was install Botfuse on our own website. Right now, if you go to botfuse.com, you’ll see that we have the landing page set up. We also have this little pink button, which is our Botfuse bot. Andre, who is our co-founder here with me, and Robert and Andre all run Botfuse together, wrote this bot for the site.You can see this bot’s decent, but what I want to do today is look at one of our competitors, Continually, who is also a chatbot site, and look at what they’re doing correctly with their bot and see if there’s anything we can learn from Continually when it comes to optimizing our chatbot. But first, let’s start with a definition. What does that mean and why is it important? Well, prospecting means being able to go out and find potential customers for your business. So for instance, when we’re selling to agencies at X27 where we offer marketing services to all sorts of B2B companies, not just agencies, but I’ll use them as an example because that’s what we talk about a lot on this channel. Let’s say we’re going after agencies, prospecting would be the process of finding those companies. What email address is the right email address to send to? Is there a phone number? What company are we even going to? That is the prospecting process. And it’s hugely important for businesses because if you’re emailing the wrong people, you run the risk of getting marked as spam. And if you don’t even know how to prospect, you don’t know who the right people might even be, then you run the risk of complete business failure. If you’re unable to find your customers, what are you even doing here?So that’s why prospecting is important. When we were first starting X27, and me and Robert decided that we wanted to go after agencies, we built as massive of a list as we could. We found 3,000 contacts in the agency space, and I actually did an old video where I showed myself emailing 100 of those guys. And we made 10,000 bucks off the first 100 sends, which is pretty good. That’s pretty good results. But we wouldn’t be able to get there if we didn’t build the list. So we went out there and we identified the target. We built the list and that’s the prospecting process. Stick around.First, let’s talk about what we were doing – Me and Robert Indries, this entire year, I know it’s still quarter two, it’s still early in the year, but this entire year, me and him have been focused on one thing which is “Software”. And we’ve been focused on it for a couple different reasons. I think Robert sees the value of a good B2B software. I’m in it, of course, for crazy reasons, thinking that if you’re going to spend a 100K on a piece of real estate, that’s so risky because America might fall. But if you spend a 100K on a piece of software, at least if the country falls apart, you can move it. From a risk mitigation point of view, I’m into it. From a value point of view, Robert’s into it. We’ve been all-in on software.Now, the first thing we wanted to do when it came to software was let’s be angel investors. That’s what we were thinking. Let’s be angel investors. Let’s try to buy some equity. And that is where this cold email came from. I figured if we go to ProductHunt and email some of these founders and offer to either buy their company or invest some money, some of them might be down. And based on these results, you could see most of them work. 50% response rates after sending 85 emails, 97% of people opened. These ProductHunt founders were down and I’ll give you the results here. We saw one term sheet from these where one company allowed us to invest. I think if we kept pushing, we probably could have gotten more, but we did pivot and ended up one, we’re developing something. But two, we acquired Botfuse. We’re working with Andrei now, who is the founder of Zopto. That kind of moved on from this thing so that’s why we didn’t really take too much advantage of this besides the one term sheet we got.But today, I want to show you the email. What did it look like? And let me show you some high-level stuff. Why isn’t there a custom first line in this? And how can you use that to maybe avoid using custom first lines in the future? At X27, we don’t do custom first lines because at scale, if you do what I’m about to talk about, you don’t need them. It’s not something I recommend in Email10k, because it is a very advanced tactic, but I will share it here. Sales is the only thing that matters in a business. All right? And I get hate from everyone every time I say that. Yes, from a product point of view, the product matters, all right? But who’s using the product? The buyers. From a collections point of view, the unpaid invoices matter, but who’s generating the invoices? The salesman. Everything comes down to sales. If your business is not selling anything, you’re not a real business, one, and two, you might be in trouble and you might need to just grab Email10k, so that you can start actually growing your business. So, what do you do? How do you find these leads? How do you find these prospects, as they’re called, to put them on your calendar so that you can actually start generating Sales and grow your business rather than pretend to have a business or be the captain of a sinking ship? Stick around.Now, there are two goals when it comes to Sales Prospecting. You want to find the right type of customers, and you want to fill your pipeline with those customers. It’s quality, the right type of customers, and quantity, massive amounts of the right type of customers. And if you can master both of those, then your business is going to skyrocket. You’re not going to have any trouble booking meetings or making sales. And first we should talk a little bit about the difference between a lead and a prospect. What is a lead? And what’s a prospect, and how do you separate the two? Well, a lead is somebody that comes through your website, maybe you have their email address. Maybe you have their phone number, or if you’re doing outbound, you’re doing a cold email process, a lead is somebody who you haven’t contacted yet, but they’re on your list.Now, how does that compare to an actual prospect? Well, a prospect is somebody who is qualified. Maybe they filled out the contact form on your site, which includes budget, like ours does at X27, or on any of our businesses, or maybe if they’re a cold email recipient, then maybe they’ve responded to the emails or even opened the email to prove that they’re real. Those are prospects. Now, leads are much easier to generate. If you wanted a thousand email addresses, you could go out there and maybe you run a Facebook ad and collect them worldwide for a penny, right? Our students have generated millions of dollars in revenue using cold email and outbound emails. In today’s video, I want to show you how we do it, what sort of system we build for people, and get you sending cold emails that are going to start booking you meetings while you’re sleeping.Why do I love cold emails so much? Because the hardest thing to do as a company is generating meetings, right? Think about it. If you were running, let’s say, a design agency. You wanted to design websites. Wouldn’t your life be a lot easier if your calendar was filled with customers that wanted to talk to you about designing a website for them? It would make it so much easier, right? Besides actually having somebody to fulfill the work, which I would even argue is easier than booking the meetings.So let’s talk about how to actually get that calendar filled. I also wanted to say that cold email is scalable without going into the spam box. When some people think cold emails, they either think of sitting there grinding for hours a day to make a couple bucks, which is not true. You can actually be very successful in cold email with just 15 minutes a day, 15 minutes a day to your first 15K. That’s what Carlos told me to say. He’s director of client acquisition at Email10k.So 15 minutes a day to your first $15K. It does not take too long to write these emails, and it’s not spam. So the process we talk about is a very customized cold email process. So you’re going out there. You’re only sending to people that you know are going to buy your service because they’re very qualified. They fit your exact criteria. They’re golden geese companies, so between $5 million and $150 million in revenue. You know they can pay you, you know they need your thing, and you’re only emailing those guys. You’re checking the lead, and then you’re customizing every single email. You’re writing personalized compliments. You’re talking about their specific business type. So it’s actually the opposite of spam.
