Normally, we’re going to go over each of them in detail, but I’ll also tell you which plugins to use. So you don’t have to worry about the details and you don’t have to learn any coding. Factor number one, site speed and performance optimization. Now, before I dive into the main points on this, here’s why it’s important. If your site loads slower, what you’ll find is your conversion rates drop.Now there’s a few things that affect your site load time. Cache, that’s where people don’t have to keep loading up your images. And they know that you’re saving the same ones over and over again, so they cache them. CDN stands for content delivery network.So that way, whenever someone’s visiting your site from the UK, you don’t have to, you know, crawl through the broadband, pipes underneath the sea to visit your site. What they’ll do is they’ll just ping a server in the UK so that way just loads faster.Then there’s lazy load. You know when you go to a site and you scroll down, there’s no need for them to load up all the images at once. Instead, they should load them as you scroll so that way you can improve the experience. JavaScript, sometimes if you have too much JavaScript on your site, it can slow things down.Now the second factor that you need to pay attention to is technical SEO. Look, if Google can’t crawl your page and understand what’s on your page or able to read the content on your site. How are you going to rank for anything? And that’s why technical SEO is super important. Everyone talks about link building, and you need all these links, new content, and they’re right. You do need links. You do need content. But if Google still can’t crawl your website, understand the content on the page, and read the code. Then it doesn’t really matter how many links you have. You’re not going to really rank for much. The AMP framework just makes it so that way your pages load faster on mobile devices specifically for text-based articles. You also want to check your redirects. There’s 301 redirects, 302 redirects. One’s permanent, one’s temporary, but that can because the bots to go around in circles if they’re doing, if you’ve done your redirects wrong. Third point, content marketing. Look, if you write content, no matter how amazing it is, if no one reads it, no one sees it. You’re not going to do well. So you got to really focus on the marketing of that content and making sure that your content is buttoned up as well. So a few factors. Push notifications, you know, in your browser, whenever you’re on, searching on the web, especially if you’re a Facebook user. It will be like, oh, it’s Neil’s birthday. And they’ll show you this little notification box that comes up. Clicking on that is a push notification. And you can actually send that out on your website. So that way you can get more visitors. Then there’s grammar. No one wants to read content that’s just poorly written. So make sure you check your grammar and fix it. Because Google’s like at the source in a dictionary, they know what’s good spelling, bad spelling, great grammar, bad grammar. If you’re writing, I love using Grammarly. That helps me a lot because I have terrible grammar. Then you got your social sharing. You know, even though Facebook reach isn’t that great compared to what it was years ago, still better than nothing. You know, you still want to share that content on Facebook and Twitter and LinkedIn and any other social site that’s applicable to your website. And of course, you want to collect emails. The next factor, security. These days we’re all worried about privacy and security. You don’t want hackers to inject malicious code into your website or publish fake content on your website. And it happens. So that’s super important for you to avoid. So with security, you know, we did mention SSL earlier, but there’s also a few other plugins that can help like, Sucuri and Wordfence. A New Way To Build Links (And Spend Less Time Finding Opportunities) [Video]

Building backlinks is a pain. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an easier way to build links? So I’m going to put it in neilpatel.com and it takes me to Ubersuggest. It takes me to the Backlinks report where I can see how many links I have, but then what I want you to do is go to this new report, which is the Backlink Opportunity report. So I’m going to put in neilpatel.com and I’m going to select domain. It’s already selected. Then I’m going to put it in a few of my competitors, like moz.com, and click the plus button. I’m going to put it, maybe, “Search Engine Land.” Maybe even searchenginejournal.com. Click the plus button. So what this report does, before I click Search, it shows you all the people who link to your competitors and don’t link to you. The reason this is important is if you go out there and you do a ton of outreach, and let’s say you hit up a ton of websites out there on the web, and you just try to get links.So now what I want you to do is you take your URL, so I’m going to take mine and I’m going to pop it here. So enter your domain or URL. Change the type from domain to URL so you can see exactly who’s linking to your URL, and then I would do the same for my competition. So then I’m going to go to this Moz one, let me click the Xs here, and I’m going to end up putting URL, so I want to see the Moz URL and who links to them but who doesn’t link to me. I’ll do the same with “Search Engine Journal.” Make sure you select URL. Again, if a website or multiple websites link to competitor articles that are very similar, like theirs is all about the introduction to SEO or what is SEO and they don’t link to me, this is great. So if you have multiple players linking to a competitor’s article and it’s very similar to yours, but yours is more in-depth and more updated, you can outreach to them, like I may say, “Hey, John, I noticed you linked to Moz, and “Search Engine Land,” and Wikipedia when it comes to overview on SEO, but you know what? AI in SEO is a really booming topic, and none of them really cover that, but when you go to all the conferences, everyone’s talking about that. Check out this article. It not only breaks down the introduction and the basics of SEO, but it also breaks down how people can leverage SEO AI to use that to increase their rankings over time. I think your readers will love it. Cheers, Neil,” and when you do stuff like that, you’ll get more targeted links, and the overall goal is if you’re emailing out 100 people and you’re getting very specific, very customized is their email, you’re using these strategies, you should aim for 15 plus links. But if your conversions dip by 20%, but your CPCs dip by 40 or not by 40, but by four X, so 400%, you still make more money.Stealing toilet paper, your CPCs aren’t going down. Your CPCs may not be going down, but your CPA’s are going down because everyone’s buying. You’re selling travel, your CPCs are really plummeted, but your CPA is even worse than your CPC, so it doesn’t even matter, right? Obviously, whether the people are looking for new recipes, off of say, like a download bar or something or food delivery apps that are absolutely smashing it right now. But everything else is majority down. Most verticals outside of that, besides health, which I saw it on your graph, had a little bit of it or has an increase. Almost everything.A lot of the brands are the ones who are having a slashed budget, so we’re seeing a lot of offers go down too. So with that being said, more than not this time in particular, brands are what people should be focusing on building over anything else. It should be brand-focused first because they can be that takeover, that bleach over, hand sanitizer, a keyword, or whether it’s a Facebook like, you know, avoiding FTC, looking for brands that they can rely on.And this is a great time to focus on building a brand, but it’s just a terrible time in general. It doesn’t mean you can’t start a business or come out fine. It’s just that times are tough right now. Cut fat. I know that sounds bad, but sometimes you have to cut to stay in business or furlough. Try to avoid that. But you can apply for the government loans and grants in different countries, so that way you can retain people. The second thing would be offer additional services to make up any revenue loss. The third thing would be is get creative and start thinking out of the box. People can’t pay you. Maybe they even pay you on a performance basis. So start trying different things just to get your income going. And focusing a lot on the back end for your clients as much as possible as well.It’s an unprecedented times for sure. And every day, we’re learning things new. And we don’t have to go into it too much, but, you know, returning the economy back to normal is one thing. Is the cure worth it? It’s this ongoing conversation. No easy decision.You’re going to have a lot of people come online. They were online anyway, but now they’re making more purchases online. They’re realizing how convenient it is. because they didn’t just have to do it for a week. It’s been so far a month, and then it’ll take roughly another month or two. So they’re getting used to it. You’re going to see a lot of these people continue with that trend.You can get up and running through click funnels. Just run some ads through Facebook, and you can crush it. Create good courses and products. But you can do really well, especially right now, with CPCs being so low. – Yeah, I mean, to that point, make good products everyone. There’s so much noise out there. Everyone’s selling a course. Be different. Be bold. Do something that actually provides value. I think the industry can get a bit of a bad rep with all these courses out there, but provide that unique advantage. Something that you can only share is much appreciated for everyone in this industry and those clients that are purchasing it as well.This is the time. People are shifting online to learn. People are looking for additional income revenues generated for themselves. So this is the time. If you have something to share, if it’s unique, definitely go online and do it. Even though I love SEO, and social media marketing, and content marketing, you can’t do one or the other or one is better than the other. You now have to take a omni-channel approach to do well. You just really got to do each and every single task. The way I look at it is you’ll have goals in your business. Think about what your goals are over the year. Now, break them down into 12 months. So what do you need to do each month to hit those goals? Now, break that down into each week, then break it down to each day, and then break down the tasks into things that could be get done in an hour. And have a daily checklist. So if you accomplish them, you’re much more likely to hit your annual goal. And that’s how you just continually grow, in which you keep creating those checklists each day. And you make sure you don’t go to sleep until it’s all done. And if the tasks is too big to finish in one day, then you need to break it down to being smaller and smaller.And what I learned is you’re going to go through ups and downs as an entrepreneur. Not everything is the way you want, and that’s okay. Just stay focused. And over time, you’ll do well. There’s not much you can end up doing in the short run to solve your problems or avoid some of these things.You should be on both channels, but I would pick YouTube. YouTube will do better than all of them. Because with YouTube you can get the search traffic. And it drives a lot of traffic and it can give you consistent traffic over time. So you will get that from YouTube links.The beautiful part is if you’ve already created a YouTube video, you can take the same video and upload it to Facebook, and LinkedIn, and then just include SRT files. because not everyone has their speakers turned on. See, there’s over a billion blogs right now. So the numbers is going to get worse. That’s one blog for every seven people, it’s saturated. Video marketing right now isn’t saturated yet. So whoever adopts early is going to win.Five crucial content marketing trends:One, podcasting and video is picking up. They’re easier to optimize for. So do podcasts SEO, do YouTube SEO. That would be my first tip. Second, is even all these forms of marketing: video, audio, text-based, it’s eventually going to get saturated as well. So start creating freemium products or services, like tools. The third tip is voice search. 50% Of the people will be using voice search by 2020 according to Comscore. So optimize for voice search. The fourth tip I would have for you is ads are going to continually go up in expenses. During the last recession, Google still generated more revenue. So assume that that’s going to happen all over again. So you need to optimize for conversions. Things like AB testing, split tests, all those kinds of things will help. The fifth tip I have for you is build a brand. Brands convert better than non-brands. Really, truly, genuinely try to help people.
