The best business to start is one that serves a specific need with sufficient demand. It’s also a good idea to choose a field that you have some expertise and interest in.What do I need to open an online business? Consider what you need to open an online business. Opening an online business requires less materials and overhead than a physical business. But, you’ll still need to assemble, plan, or create some things to get off the ground. These could include an idea for your product or service, a marketing plan, business branding, a competitive advantage, a financial plan, business software, hardware or equipment, and a legal and accounting framework. What is my competitive advantage? Your competitive advantage is what makes your product or service unique from other sellers or providers. This could be your niche, your personality, your branding or style, product quality, product benefits, or more. But don’t try to compete on price. It’s a race to the bottom. Dig deep to find your specific topic and use that as the jumping off point to determine your competitive advantage. Oat is my risk tolerance?valuate your risk tolerance. Are you willing to give everything you have to make your dream a reality? Or are you more cautious and want to make sure you have backup plans? No way is right or wrong. But, thinking about this before making large scale business decisions can help you stay on the track you see best for yourself. How much time do I have to spend on my business? Look at your schedule and see how much time you have to spend on your business. Are you able to work on your business in your free time, or are you going to have to sacrifice other potential income-generating opportunities to make time for it? It may take longer if you’re working on your business on the side, so set your expectations accordingly.Do I have sufficient business funding? Do you have enough capital to open a business? Even an online business with minimal overhead needs some kind of funding for things like software, equipment, and covering your own personal financial needs until you have profits from your business. Many business experts recommend having three to six months of operating expenses available in liquid assets. When can I launch my business? Next, you’ll need to plan the timing of your business launch. If you set a timeline for a goal, you’re more likely to achieve it. Give yourself ample time to lay the business foundation, create your product or service, and begin your marketing. It’s okay if this is months in the future. It’s better to be prepared for your launch than rush and stumble. How should I market my business? Consider how you’ll market your business. Blogging, organic social media, email marketing, and cross promotion are great and inexpensive ways to start. Regardless of the specific choices you make to market your business, one key best practice is to diversify your marketing channels. Am I ready to open an online business? The last thing to consider is if you think you’re ready. Many business owners say that someone is never truly ready, but you’ll know you’re on the right track with a few key indicators. If you have a product or service ready for sale with a website and marketing materials, some business funding, and future plans for your business, those are all great signs. Coaching on Kajabi Tutorial: How to Start Coaching [Video]

Watch to see how coaching works in this coaching demonstration.Check out more about the Kajabi coaching tool: https://kajabi.com/features/coachingCoaching walkthrough:First, let’s head to ‘Products’ in your Kajabi dashboard and click on ‘Coaching. Then click “Get started”. Here you can choose between creating a single session or a coaching package. You’ll choose “single session” if you want your clients to purchase individual coaching sessions with you. You can also choose “package” if you’d like to create a program that offers a series of sessions over time that customers can purchase upfront. For this coaching session example, let’s create a coaching package. All that’s required to continue is the title. You can also customize the coach name, product description, and add an image. You’ll then be asked to choose the number of sessions you’d like to include in this package. For this example, let’s say it’s 6 sessions. As the next step, you’ll link your booking calendar. You can choose to connect your Calendly Premium account, use a custom link from a Basic Calendly account, or a different scheduling tool like Acuity or Google Calendars, or you can schedule sessions manually. I’ll go ahead and connect my Calendly Premium account, since that will allow my calendar in Kajabi to sync with my events in Calendly automatically. Once you’ve connected Calendly Premium to your Kajabi account, the Calendly events will appear in this drop-down menu.If you choose a different scheduling option, you’ll be able to enter the scheduling link URL manually. Now we’ll choose an event to connect to this package and click confirm. Explore the Coaching dashboard Your newly created coaching product will now appear right here on the program page. This page gives you a basic overview of all the different coaching products you’ve created. Once you click into the program, this box will show you all your currently enrolled coaching clients. Now I’ll click on the package outline page, where you’ll be able to edit and customize this coaching package.You’ll see here that we have all 6 sessions laid out. Now let’s look at how to edit the details of each session. You’ll just click on the session you’d like to edit. From this page, you can add agenda items and upload resources for this individual session. So if I’m a fitness trainer, I might upload resources like a week of meal plans and workouts, plus an agenda item to review my client’s progress pictures. You can customize these for each session to ensure that whenever you meet with a client, it’s structured, productive, and moves them closer to their goal.Now that I’ve added agenda items to this session, let’s see what it will look like once it’s live. We’ll go back to the coaching programs page and click preview in the top left-hand corner. This will show you the finished version of your coaching program. Let’s click on session one and see what it looks like from this end. At the top, you’ll see the agenda items we just added. You can check these off as you go through each session. Below that, you’ll see the resources you’ve uploaded to share. And at the bottom, you have the ability to take private notes during each session. This will help you keep track of your client’s progress as well as any important items that may come up during your session. When you’re finished taking notes, just hit save, and you can return and review them at a later date. If I’m a trainer, this is where I might record various improvements my client has made, or any injuries they’re dealing with, so that I can easily keep those things top of mind next time we meet.Before we start taking notes on sessions, first we’ve got to launch our coaching program. Create an offer So from the main coaching program page, we’ll select the coaching program we just created to use in this offer.Then click ‘offers’ and select ‘add new offer.’ Give your offer a title, choose the products you want to include, and set your price. Click ‘create,’ and then save the offer in the top left-hand corner.
