– Malam Mele Kyari has opened up on how the benefits of fuel subsidy payments were pocketed
– The NNPC MD said cabals engaged in fuel marketing enriched themselves instead of the benefits to be channelled to the masses
– Kyari also stressed that FG spent a staggering N8.942 trillion in subsidising petroleum products between 2006 and 2015
Mele Kyari has stated that the benefits of the fuel subsidy payments were enjoyed by the market cabal engaged in fuel marketing instead of the masses.
The managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) made this disclosure while speaking during a Hausa programme on a radio station in Kaduna state, ThisDay reports.
Kyari, who noted that masses should have been the one enjoying the benefits, said subsidy was removed because it was characterized by fraudulent activities.
