How to Find Lucrative Link-Building Opportunities in Under 60 Seconds

Links are one of the key ingredients to ranking high on Google. But how do you find sites that are willing to link to you? Hey everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m going to break down how to find lucrative link opportunities in under 60 Seconds.

RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
hunter.io: https://hunter.io/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________

Let’s say you’re competing with neilpatel.com, I want you to enter in your competitor’s domain, not your own, but your competitors. And then just click search. It’ll load up this report in Ubersuggest, this is the backlinks report that breaks down all the back links that your competitors have.

It breaks on their domain authority, their backlinks, their referring domain names, that’s how many new unique websites are linking to them, right? Specific domains, not just pages, and then organic monthly traffic that they’re getting.

And then as you can see here it has their link graph of over time of how many new referring domains that are linking to them. If it’s going down, if it’s going up, and it’ll show you their new links that they’re gaining each and every single day, as well as their lost links that they’re losing each and every single day.

And I want you to go through, and I want you to first click on advanced filters and there’s include/exclude referring domains, exact matching, enter domain name.

The first I want you to do is click on follow. So this only shows you the links that are followed, because the no-follow ones don’t really help increase your rankings.

Then you want to make sure the one link per domain is clicked and highlighted in orange. And as long as you do that, you’re fine. And then what I want you to do is type in domains that include anchor, that contains any of the keywords that you’re going after.

So I’m going after, let’s say SEO, and I’ll click apply. And this will start showing me all the links it’s loading. It’ll show me all the links that have the word SEO in there. And what I want you to do is do this for your competition and then go to each of the websites that has linked to them. You just click this arrow where it says source, okay?

And I’m doing this for a few of the sites. So Webflow, business SEO, Qe box, and you’d want to go through them, start reaching out to some of these sites and say, hey, I noticed you link out to Neil Patel and his article on what is SEO. I have a more detailed article that not only breaks down what SEO is, but how to leverage it and how to do it in three simple steps. So I’m Googling here for SEO.

Although this article has a pop-up, let’s see if I can find it really quickly. So SEO, let’s see if that was a link to me. Nope, that’s a link to themselves. May take a little bit Google own Starter Guide, Support Google, that’s another business one. Let’s see if I can keep scrolling on, mine say beginner’s guide. In his thorough blog to that, that’s to me. So, in thorough guide to Bing SEO, so this links to my Bing SEO article.

Now, if you’re struggling to find, hey who do I contact at yell.com, look for author and you just Google from, or you can go to hunter.io. So hunter.io let’s go there. And the company is yell.com. I think it’s yell.com. There you go, 27 results. And sometimes you’ll be able to find the exact email of that person. Sometimes you’ll see it for other people, and that’s fine pick someone at that company.

Ideally, the ideal person who wrote the article and just message them. And with Hunter, you can sign up for a free account and you can get 50 free searches. And this is the process I use to find the email address, do outreach and contact each of these people and try to build links.

It’s a tedious task. It works. It’ll generate you more links, do this with each of your competitors, find the relevant articles that are linking out to them, and try to convince them to link out to you.

Don’t focus on domain authority or anything like that. Just focus on quality links, and the easiest way to figure out who linked to you is people who linked to your competitors and they link to other similar articles.

The Painful Truth About SEO [Video]

SEO used to be simple, you write an article on a topic and over time you get rankings, you get some traffic. Even if you're not on page one, it wasn't that competitive, and you get results. But now with over a billion blogs on the internet, SEO has become super competitive. Just think about that. That's roughly one blog for every seven people. And the way you get traffic, and the method you use to get those rankings has changed. Today I'm going to break down the painful truth about SEO, and how you can succeed in today's market.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________So how do you get traffic in today's world? Well, it really is all about the long tail. And I want to show you the Neil Patel blog, so you can see, for example. How to read your website source code, and why it's important. The keyword here, I'm going after not just website source code, I'm going after reading your website source code. So let's type in, how to read website source code. And as you can see here, if you look at the searches, not a ton of searches it'll load soon enough and you'll be able to see. But it's something better than nothing, 10. And then when you look at a term like source code, website source code, you got 480 searches. And if you go after, website code maybe there'll be a little bit better. You have 8,000 searches. And the list goes on and on, and if you keep scrolling on the Neil Patel blog, you'll see this the eight most important conversion rate metrics you should be tracking. 25 marketing books, you should be reading this. One's a little bit more generic marketing books. You know how to leverage testimonials in paid campaigns. And I'm just showing you how to use testimonials not just in general, but in your paid advertising campaigns. And Google ad-words certified, right or certification, Instagram story highlights on a brand account. I'm getting very specific with my content. And let's take this one as an example of Instagram story highlights. So here I'm on Ubersuggest, you can just go to Neil Patel. I'll actually go neilpatel.com/ubersuggest. And let's type in the keyword, Instagram story the highlights, Instagram story highlights. And I'm searching in English United States, 3,600 searches per month. And what I want you to do is start looking for longer tail keywords. So for example, if I have something on, let's dive a little bit deeper Photoshop, right As you can see here, this article is on Photoshop classes. And let's go back to Ubersuggest, and let's type in photo shop classes Instead of just optimizing for head terms, IEX Photoshop classes. I want you to look for a long tail terms, Photoshop classes online, Photoshop classes near me, Photoshop classes online for free, Photoshop classes for beginners. And there's other related, you know terms as well. But as you can see here, I'm going for long tail terms. So what I want you to do as an Ubersuggest is typing keywords that you may be going after. If I type in Photoshop, because a lot of micro marketers needed deal with design tools and editing images for blog posts or social media. You can see that is Photoshop free Photoshop online, download Photoshop, Photoshop remove background, Photoshop elements. I would start writing articles on all these detailed terms like, how to resize images in Photoshop, how to remove your background using Photoshop. By doing this you'll generate more traffic, by optimizing for all the long tail terms. And it may not be something that is appealing and is what you want to do. But that's how you succeed in the world of SEO today, in which you need a right a lot of traffic, or content around these long tail terms. If you want tons and tons of traffic. And by doing it I'll show you what ends up happening to your traffic. If you look here this is the neilpatel.com, Google analytics. I'm going to end up showing you real time stats, let's click on real time. Hopefully it loads soon, got a lot of data. Let's go to global, and let's go to real time. You can see here 1,962 people on my website, right then right now. All because I'm writing all this long tail content. That's how you win in the game of SEO in today's world. Going viral is tough. Everyone wants to go viral because they want millions and millions of video views. But what if I told you that you can get millions of video views without going viral. Today I'm going to break down how I got 37 million video views without going viral.RESOURCES & LINKS: ____________________________________________Social Blade: https://socialblade.com/Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/____________________________________________It's probably safe to say I have over 50 million views. That's a lot of views. So how do you do that without going viral? And today I'm going to show you how to do that. The first thing I want you to do is go to Google and google Ubersuggest Chrome extension. And when you type that in, it's the first result, it's chrome.google.com. The URL's really long. So I just want you to Google. Ubersuggest Chrome extension And there's over 200,000 people that use it, install it. And as you can see here, I've already have it installed. And you see that there's this little orange U icon. That's Ubersuggest. And if you don't see it there click the little puzzle piece. And then I want you to pin, click the pin for Ubersuggest, and then you'll see it. Now, when you go back to YouTube and you search for anything. And let's say I type in the word, digital marketing and I'm going to type it in. And the Ubersuggest extension will show you how many people search for digital marketing every single month. And it adds up. And I'll go and create topics on digital marketing and, and based on a look at some of the other videos and what people are doing. And I'll use that to figure out, all right maybe I should create a video on this. And it'll tell me not just what the search volume is for that keyword but it'll also give me other recommendations in the right sidebar. So that way I have more ideas of the keywords that I could be doing. The next thing I want you to do is go to neilpatel.com/ubersuggest, so that way you can get a bigger list ideas. And I want you to type in some of the competitors in your space. So let's say your competitor is Neil Patel, being me. And when you type in a domain name like Neil Patel you'll get a traffic overview where you see the popularity of a website over time and how much traffic they're going. But I want you to click in the left navigation keywords by traffic. And when you click on keywords by traffic just make sure you put in their domain name. And you'll see all the keywords that I'm ranking for. Not necessarily getting this many visits, which is volume. Estimated visits is on the right side. But you can see by volume what keywords are searched a lot being Reddit, news, Google ad words, you know, Google my business, Discord bots Quora, blogging, vlogging search engine optimization, SEO, advanced search on Twitter, Twitter advanced search, copywriting, search engines, influencers. And when you do this for your competition and you keep scrolling, a lot of the keywords won't be relevant for you. Some of them will be, any of the ones that are it'll give you ideas for keywords that you could be targeting. I'm using Ubersuggest to find all the other domains that have a lot, that are in my category. Like if this one is on, I think we saw podcasts advertising or podcasts topics. Or let's go, What? I don't know, content marketing, click on it. And then I can see all the other sites that rank for content marketing. One of the ones that ranks at the top is content marketing institute. Then I can go, Ima copy their domain here, go to keywords by traffic. And I can end up going through content marketing institute and then seeing, all right what are all the keywords that they're using as well? And this will give me good ideas on more keywords that I can create videos on. And when you create hundreds and hundreds of videos like I did, I know it takes time. You'll get the millions of views. Don't rely on going viral. You can't predict that, but you can predict that if you create tons of videos that are useful and helpful, each video may get five 10,000 views a month or even 2000 views a month. But when you have so many, it'll add up and over the years you'll get millions and millions of views and generate tons of revenue from it. Play the numbers game, create quality content in quantity when it comes to videos, put it on all the social sites out there you'll get the traffic, you'll get the views. You'll get the revenue from it, you'll get the brand awareness. And it's the long game. It works. Stop trying to waste your time going viral.
