A futuristic Amazon Robotics fulfilment centre under construction in Sydney's west will become one of the company's most advanced plants in the southern hemisphere.
The centre is expected to be open by next Christmas and will create more than 2200 jobs, including 700 involved in the construction of the site.
"Just imagine that by next Christmas Amazon will be able to undertake its fulfilments or its orders from this advanced manufacturing plant," NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said today.
Ms Berejiklian said the centre, near "a stone's throw away" from Sydney's second airport, will have some of the most advanced manufacturing and robotics capacity in the country.
Amazon Australia Country Matt Furlong said the high-tech centre will speed up delivery and increase the range of products available to customers.
